22. Select cell G24. In this cell type =D24 — F24. There is a minus sign ( — ) between D24
and F24. This subtractions calculates the amount of the principal in the payment.
23. Select cell H24. In this cell type =C24 — G24. There is a minus sign ( — ) between C24
and G24. This subtractions calculates the remaining balance of the loan.
24. Select cell J24. In this cell type =F24 + J23. There is a plus sign ( + ) between F24 and
J23. This calculation is the accumulation of interest paid on the loan with each
payment.
After all of this detailed work it is now time to use the Copy Down function to replicate
the formulas in row 24 columns B through J.
25. Select cell B24 with your mouse. Left click on the mouse and drag it across to highlight
to J24, Cumulative Interest value. Keep holding the left mouse click as you drag down
the rows.
