14. Click on cell H12 to select it and then click inside the formula bar to enter
this formula: =H10 – D4 and press the Enter key. Subtracting the Principal Loan
from the Total Cost will cause the computer to calculate the Total Interest. The -
character (minus sign) is located on the numbers line of the keyboard next to the 0
key. Select that key by tapping it once and your computer will put in place the
minus sign. The Total Interest will read $4,435.59.
Now you will enter the coding for the Table 1 Data used in Chapter 9.
15. Click on cell H16 to select it and then click inside the formula bar to enter
this formula: =D4/1000. This will divide the loan amount by 1000 and the result
will be the Loan Amount Factor: LAF. When you press the Enter key the amount
displayed is $11.16. As this value represents dollars ($) it is rounded to the nearest
cent.
